Snap renews Deep Creek and picks up new series While Black

Snap has announced a raft of new original shows that will be available globally on the Snapchat Discover mobile video platform.

The newly unveiled shows are set to begin rolling out later this year and run the gamut from scripted dramas and comedies to docuseries, social commentary and more.

Indigo Development is also working with Main Event Media on While Black, in which author, filmmaker, recording artist and educator MK Asante explores racially charged social issues through candid conversations. BuzzFeed is set to produce a new daily show about social-media-trending celebrity and pop-culture moments. Bunim/Murray Productions’s Stranded with Sam and Colby follows a pair of influencers filming from a haunted location.

Snap has also renewed Bunim/Murray’s Endless Summer, Deep Creek by Woodman Park Productions, and The Dead Girls Detective Agency by Indigo Development and Entertainment Arts, Insurrection Media and Keshet…
